If I could have it my way this Snobcast would just be a recording of the Overcasters phenomenal show on Saturday. After much suspense and excitement Kurt (from the legendary Tarmints) finally submitted to the rock zealots who had been salivating for months since first hearing wind of the project. It was more than worth the wait.

But let me back up here. For me, this weekend started on Wednesday when we helped the lovely Nichole ring in a new year at Pervert. Yes I have been hungover ever since. A six day,  end of summer  blowout  that  culminated  in  Jim McTurnan's hot tub. More about that later.
Thursday the rest of the world found out about the demise of one of our favorite bands, Bright Channel. We here at Donnybrook had been mourning this passing all week. So I've got a song of theirs for you today. The rest of the 'cast pretty much stems from this feeling and the end of summer blues.

Friday (aka the beginning of the weekend for normal people) began with margarita's at El Noa Noa. This proved to be just the right preparation for Angora, Nina and I to go do our best hipster act for the Hot IQs new video. That was great until some sleazy dude showed up who looked a lot like (Hot IQs bassist) Brian, if Brian had black hair and a porn star mustache. We had to leave.

Saturday was basically a mental preparation for the coming night. Knowing that we were gonna get our faces melted at the Tar-Shack, Angora and I decided to chill with some movies for a few hours. First we watched "300" which was hmmm...OK, but then we put in Jim Jarmusch's 1984 film "Down by Law" starring Tom Waits. Tom Wait's is just the man I think of when I'm looking for some dark blues to soothe the soul. So I've got a song from him for you kiddies.

I thought Cat-A-Tac's "Dreamer"  would fit in perfectly here too, but now the inclusion of this band means even more after sharing a hot tub with 40 other people at the home of  Cat-A-tac front man, Jim's house. To everybody that was there last night, and everybody I groped in the tub, you hold a big piece of my heart today.

OK, OK. I know you want the music. So that's all from me, but can I just say, thank jeebus for Labor day.  Nobody better call me today. I will be unavailable.
